About the Blue Araucana

The blue is a self colour produced by the Blue dilution gene acting on black, giving an even slate-blue body, often with darker lacing and a darker head and hackle. Because Blue is incompletely dominant it does not breed fully true, throwing black and splash alongside blue from blue-to-blue pairings. One of the twelve PCGB colours, and a blue-egg layer like all Araucanas.
