About the Pile Araucana

The pile is genetically a black-red with the black pigment removed, leaving the red markings on a white body: cocks carry red hackle, back and saddle over white, while hens are largely white with a salmon breast. One of the twelve PCGB-standard colours and a striking red-on-white variety. Lays the breed's blue eggs.
