About the Spangled Asil
The Spangled Asil shows a ground colour broken by white-tipped feathers, each ending in a contrasting spangle that gives a flecked, mottled appearance. It is one of the four colours admitted to the APA standard in 1981 and is among the more eye-catching exhibition varieties. The spangling overlays the same hard, close feathering and statuesque carriage typical of this ancient Indian gamefowl.
