About the Wheaten Asil
In the Wheaten Asil the hen is the defining sex: a soft, even wheat-straw body with a contrasting black tail, while the cock carries rich orange, red and black plumage. Wheaten was the last colour added to the APA standard, accepted in 1996. The pale female ground sits over the breed's hard feather and powerful, upright build inherited from its Indian fighting ancestry.
