About the White Australorp
A pure white Australorp developed in South Africa in the 1930s and in Australia in the 1940s, recognised in Australia in 2012 and by the Poultry Club of Great Britain and Entente Européenne (but not the APA). Unlike blue, the white variety breeds true. It is far less common than the black, while keeping the breed's productive dual-purpose build and reputation as a heavy layer of light-brown eggs.
