About the Red-shouldered Ayam Ketawa

The red-shouldered is the most characteristic Ayam Ketawa pattern: a dark base plumage broken by warm red lacing across the shoulders and wing-bows. Because the breed is selected for the cockerel's extraordinary laughing crow rather than for colour, there is no fixed standard, so red-shouldered birds vary in depth and extent of the marking. As with all Ayam Ketawa, it is an ornamental bird of modest size that lays tinted eggs and goes broody well.
