About the Mottled Belgian Bearded d'Uccle
A mottled variety in which the recessive mottling gene tips many feathers with white "V" spangles over a black ground, so the bird shows irregular white flecking that increases with each moult. Mottled (black mottled) is recognised by both the Entente Européenne and the APA (1996). Ornamental, on the bearded, booted d'Uccle type.
