About the Black Mottled Booted Bantam
Black mottled Booteds are black with a white tip (spangle) to a proportion of the feathers, giving a flecked black-and-white appearance that increases with each moult. The mottling gene also produces the white tips seen in patterned colours such as millefleur. It is a standardised colour with the Poultry Club of Great Britain, the speckling extending across the body and the abundant foot and hock feathering of this true bantam.
