About the Blue Booted Bantam

A blue Booted Bantam shows an even slate-blue plumage, ideally with darker lacing on each feather, the colour produced by the single blue dilution gene acting on black. Because blue is heterozygous it does not breed wholly true, throwing blue, black and splash offspring. It is a standardised colour with the Poultry Club of Great Britain, the blue tone carrying through the breed's characteristic feathered feet and vulture hocks.
