About the Cuckoo Booted Bantam
A cuckoo Booted Bantam carries the barring gene, giving irregular grey-on-grey bands of light and dark slate across each feather, a less sharply defined pattern than true barring. The cuckoo marking runs through the body and into the heavy foot feathering and vulture hocks. It is one of the colours standardised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain in this small ornamental true bantam.
