About the Isabel Booted Bantam
Isabel is a Dutch/German colour created by adding the lavender gene to a partridge (or wild-type) base, diluting the red and black pigments to a soft, pastel yellow-straw ground over faded markings. Ground colour in hens becomes a gentle yellow, while cocks show straw-yellow hackle, saddle and shoulders. It is a continental variety carried through the breed's feathered feet and vulture hocks; it is not among the colours separately standardised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain.
