About the Black Bovans Nera
The sole colour of this Dutch laying hybrid, the Black Bovans Nera carries glossy black plumage with a characteristic green-bronze sheen and, in many birds, a flush of gold or copper flecking through the neck and breast typical of black sex-link crosses from Rhode Island Red x Barred Plymouth Rock stock. Bred by Hendrix Genetics from a broad commercial gene pool, she is exceptionally hardy and docile, laying around 270-300 large mid-brown eggs in her first year across all systems from back garden to free-range.
