About the Black Brahma

The Black is a self-coloured Brahma, solid black ideally with a green beetle sheen over the breed's giant, densely feathered, feather-legged body. Genetically it is the black base on which the blue varieties are built — birds carrying no copy of the blue gene. It is accepted in several standards (including Australia) as one of the self colours alongside Blue and White.
