About the Blue Partridge Brahma
Blue Partridge takes the gold-pencilled (partridge) pattern and adds one copy of the incompletely dominant blue gene, which turns the black pencilling to slate-blue and softens the whole pattern to a muted blue-on-gold. Because blue never breeds true, matings throw partridge, blue partridge and splash offspring. It is one of the colours recognised in the British Poultry Standards and remains a comparatively scarce, sought-after variety.
