About the Partridge Brahma
Partridge is the gold-pencilled pattern as named in North America: hens have a soft partridge-brown to golden ground with each feather distinctly triple-pencilled in black across breast, back and body, and a golden hackle finely pencilled with black. Cocks show the black-breasted-red type colouring with gold hackle and saddle. It is the same pattern as the Gold variety, the two names reflecting different regional conventions.
