About the Laced Blue Breda
Unlike the plain self-blue, the laced blue Breda shows a patterned feather: a soft baby-blue ground with each feather distinctly outlined in thick black lacing, giving a crisp scalloped effect. Good lacing is hard to fix, making well-marked birds the most prized and least common of the blue forms. Like every Breda it is combless with large nostrils, vulture hocks and feathered legs, an old Dutch rarity laying white eggs.
