About the Splash Breda

Splash is the double-blue form of the Breda, carrying two copies of the blue gene so that the black is diluted right out to a pale, near-white ground broken by irregular slate-blue flecks. Bred from blue-to-blue or blue-to-splash pairings, splash birds are a key part of the Blue/Black/Splash breeding triangle and reliably throw blue when mated back to black. A rare colour on a rare breed, retaining the Breda's combless head, vulture hocks and feathered legs.
