About the Buff Barred Brockbar
The Brockbar's sole plumage is a barred, buff-toned fowl produced by crossing a Buff Rock with a Barred Rock, carrying the sex-linked barring gene over a buff ground that allowed cockerel and pullet chicks to be told apart at a day old. As one of the lesser-known Cambridge-era '-bar' autosexing breeds it never gained a following and had died out by about 1950, so it is recorded as British poultry heritage rather than as a living variety.
