About the Buff Rock
The Buff is one of seven Plymouth Rock colour varieties recognised by the APA, distinguished by an even, solid golden-buff plumage carried right through to the under-colour, with no barring, lacing or pencilling. It is noticeably less common than the Barred or White Rocks and is kept mainly by exhibition and heritage breeders. Beneath the warm colour it is a true Plymouth Rock: a calm, cold-hardy, single-combed dual-purpose bird that lays brown eggs and makes a reliable sitter and mother.
