About the Silver Campine
The Silver Campine carries the breed's crisp black barring with its beetle-green sheen over a pure white ground, set off by a solid white head and neck hackles. The bars are notably broad, the black roughly three times the width of the white, giving a bolder pattern than a Plymouth Rock. Hens and cocks share the same markings (hen-feathered males). A flighty, hardy white-egg layer now kept mostly for show and genuinely rare; recognised in the APA Standard since 1914.
