About the Partridge Chantecler
The Partridge Chantecler shows the classic partridge pattern with a horn-coloured beak, and was developed separately from the original White line by crossing Partridge Wyandottes and Cochins with Dark Cornish and rose-combed Red Leghorn stock. Admitted to the American Standard of Perfection in 1935, it is the later and scarcer of the two recognised colours. It shares the breed's frostbite-resistant cushion comb, dense feathering and calm dual-purpose nature, laying light-brown eggs.
