About the White Chantecler
The original and best-known Chantecler, the White carries clean white plumage with a yellow beak, skin and legs. It was the first form created in early-20th-century Quebec and was admitted to the American Standard of Perfection in 1921, predating the Partridge by over a decade. Like all Chanteclers it has the tiny cushion comb and dense feathering that shrug off Canadian winters, making this calm dual-purpose bird a hardy light-brown-egg layer.
