About the Buff Cochin
The buff Cochin shows an even, warm golden-fawn across the whole bird, including the profusely feathered legs and feet, ideally with no shading or mealiness. Buff was among the very first Cochins to reach Britain and helped ignite 1850s 'hen fever', and it remains an 1874 APA original colour and a UK large-fowl standard. It is the colour most people picture as the archetypal Cochin.
