About the Lemon Blue Cochin
Lemon blue is the blue form of brown red: pale straw-lemon head, hackle and saddle set against a slate-blue body in place of black, the blue gene diluting what would otherwise be black areas. It is one of the more recently recognised Cochin varieties, standardised by the APA in 2018, and is not part of the UK large-fowl standard. The soft lemon-on-blue combination is an unusual, eye-catching choice on the breed's voluminous feathering.
