About the Mottled Cochin
The mottled Cochin has a black, green-glossed ground in which a proportion of feathers are tipped with a white V, scattering crisp white spots over the bird. It is a recognised bantam-Cochin variety in the US (APA-standardised in 1965) rather than a UK large-fowl colour. The flecked black-and-white tipping is especially showy against the Cochin's abundant soft plumage.
