About the Splash Cochin
A splash Cochin is pale whitish-grey or bluish-white splashed with irregular darker slate-blue markings; it is the double-blue-gene result, so splash bred to splash breeds true while splash crossed to black yields all blue. The colour was recognised relatively late, standardised by the APA in 2014, and is not a UK large-fowl Cochin colour. The mottled splash effect is distinctive against the breed's huge cushion of soft feather.
