About the Blue Crèvecœur
The Blue Crèvecœur carries the dilution gene that turns the breed's solid black to an even slate-blue, usually with the laced feather edging typical of blue poultry. It is one of three extra colours (with white and cuckoo) recognised only in France, not in the UK or US, making it a rare form of an already endangered crested breed. Otherwise it shows the standard full crest, small V-comb and white eggs.
