About the Black Croad Langshan
Black is the original and by far the most common Croad Langshan colour, the form Major Croad brought from China in 1872. The plumage is a dense black carrying a brilliant beetle-green sheen, set off by the breed's white skin and dark legs. It remains the variety against which all others are judged and the one most likely to lay the breed's signature dark, plum-bloomed eggs.
