About the Blue Dutch Bantam

The Blue is a self-coloured Dutch Bantam in an even slate or pigeon-blue, each feather ideally laced a shade darker. Because it carries the single blue-dilution gene, Blue does not breed true: pairing two blues yields roughly half blue plus black and splash offspring, so selecting good even-shade birds takes care. It is one of the self colours standardised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain.
