About the Lavender Dutch Bantam
Lavender (self blue) is a uniform soft pale-grey self, produced by the recessive lavender gene rather than the blue gene of the standard Blue. Because lavender is recessive it breeds true without the splash and black throwbacks of true Blue, giving an even, dove-grey bird throughout. It is one of the more recent self colours standardised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain.
