About the Mixed Easter Egger
Because the Easter Egger is a hybrid rather than a standardised breed, no two birds need look alike: plumage runs the full range of whites, blacks, browns, golds and patterned mixtures, with no set colour or pattern and no APA recognition. The mixed plumage simply reflects the varied Araucana/Ameraucana and brown-egg ancestry behind each bird. Most carry the breed's signature muffs, beard and pea comb, and each hen lays one shade from the blue-to-green spectrum, so a mixed-plumage flock yields both a varied look and a varied egg basket.
