About the Ermine Faverolles
An ermine (Columbian-type) Faverolles: a white bird with black confined to the hackle and tail, the same pattern seen in the Light Sussex. Ermine differs from true Columbian in that the saddle lacks black striping, leaving a cleaner white back. A British-developed and UK-standardised colour, it is among the scarcer Faverolles, carrying the breed's beard, muffs, feathered legs and fifth toe.
