About the Gold Penciled Friesian Fowl

The gold pencilled Friesian shows a rich golden-brown ground feather marked with fine black pencilling that runs in delicate concentric lines along the contour of each feather, the warm gold replacing the white ground of the silver variety. It is one of the three pencilled colours standardised in the UK and shares the breed's small size, hardiness and good white-egg laying.
