About the Cuckoo Frizzle
Cuckoo Frizzles have a light blue or grey ground with each feather marked across by uniform bands of darker blue or grey, the barring produced by the sex-linked barring gene rather than crisp cuckoo definition. Against the breed's curled, outward-turning plumage the soft banding gives a distinctive dappled effect. Cuckoo is one of the four colours recognised in the European standard as well as the British; the bird is ornamental and lays tinted eggs.
