About the Partridge Frizzle
In the Frizzle, the partridge pattern is standardised as the black-red (partridge bred) variety: the male shows a red neck harmonising with back and breast over a black-pencilled body and greenish-black tail, while the female carries the classic partridge ground of brown finely pencilled with darker markings. It is the patterned counterpart to the breed's self colours, displayed on the same outward-curling plumage. Listed in the British standard; the bird is ornamental and lays tinted eggs.
