About the Goldline
The classic Goldline carries the warm gold-brown body plumage that names her, typically flecked with white in the under-feathers and tail — the result of her sex-linked cross (Rhode Island Red over Light Sussex), which lets the gold pullets be told from the paler cockerels at day-old. That single utility colour is the only form of this commercial hybrid. Behind the friendly farmyard look sits a prolific layer of 300-plus brown eggs a year, hardy, placid and ideal for first-time keepers.
