About the White Hamburg
The White Hamburg is a pure self-white variety that, unusually, was developed and championed in the United States after being created but largely shunned by English breeders; it is recognised by the American Poultry Association (added 1874) but not by the Poultry Club of Great Britain. It is among the rarer Hamburg colours. Beneath the plumage it is a typical Hamburg: rose-combed, active and flighty, laying glossy white eggs and kept chiefly for exhibition.
