About the Brown-Red Japanese Bantam
Brown-red is the golden counterpart of birchen: a black-bodied bird whose head and hackles (and the cock's saddle) are striped in lemon-gold rather than silver, with the upper breast feathers black laced with gold. It is a recognised standardised colour of the Japanese Bantam, the warm gold edging standing out against the otherwise black plumage and the breed's towering upright tail.
