About the Tri-Coloured Japanese Bantam
Also known as mille fleur: a red-brown ground colour in which each feather ends in a black bar then a white tip, speckling the bird with three colours. The black-and-white tips ideally balance evenly but shift with every moult, making the variety notoriously hard to breed to standard. It carries this ornate spangling on the breed's short legs and towering tail.
