About the Gold Lakenvelder

The Gold reads the Lakenvelder belt over a golden-buff ground instead of white, keeping the same solid-black head, hackle and tail for a warm-toned version of the breed's signature contrast. It is far less established than the Silver: golden 'Lakenvelders' are very often the closely related German Vorwerk (Lakenvelder x buff breeds), and gold is not a separately recognised Lakenvelder colour in the UK standard, so true examples are scarce. Otherwise it shares the breed's small, lively, free-ranging character and pale eggs.
