About the Silver Legbar
The Silver Legbar, recognised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain in 1951, was developed from the Gold Legbar crossed with the Silver Cambar, replacing gold pigment with silver-white. The result is a crisp silver-grey, sex-linked barred bird, plain-headed like the Gold and laying cream-white rather than blue eggs. The rarest of the three Legbar varieties, it retains the autosexing barring that allows day-old chicks to be sexed by sight.
