About the Blue Leghorn
An even, soft slate-blue self-colour, the Blue Leghorn arises from the single blue-dilution gene, so it does not breed wholly true — mating two blues yields roughly blue, black and splash offspring. It is one of the rarer recognised British colours and prized for the contrast of its dusky blue plumage against red comb and white earlobes. In all other respects a typical light, active white-egg-laying Leghorn.
