About the Columbian Leghorn
The Columbian Leghorn is a largely white bird with black restricted to the extremities — a black-laced neck hackle and black in the tail and wing tips, each black feather edged with white. The pattern comes from the Columbian gene confining eumelanin to the points of the bird. Recognised in both the British and American standards (the British Club also keeps Buff Columbian). A typical prolific white-egg Leghorn.
