About the Gold Duckwing Leghorn
The Gold (Golden) Duckwing Leghorn shows the duckwing pattern on a gold ground: cocks carry golden-yellow hackle and saddle, a black breast, and the characteristic blue-black wing bar with a chestnut wing triangle; hens are silver-grey with a salmon breast. Gold and silver duckwing Leghorns were created in Britain in the late 1880s from crosses with Phoenix or Yokohama fowl. An active layer of white eggs.
