About the Mottled Leghorn
The Mottled Leghorn carries a ground colour (typically black) broken by white tips on a proportion of the feathers, giving an evenly speckled, spangled look that increases with each moult. It is one of the recognised but less common British Leghorn colours. The flecked plumage contrasts with the bright red comb and pure-white earlobes of this lively, productive white-egg layer.
