About the Red Leghorn
The Red Leghorn is a self-red bird of even, rich red plumage, recognised as a variety in both the British and American standards (the US also keeps a Black-Tailed Red form). The warm solid colour stands out against the bright red comb and pure-white earlobes. It retains the breed's lean, upright frame and heavy output of white eggs.
