About the Silver Leghorn

In the Silver Leghorn the gold ground of the wild-type bird is replaced by silver-white: cocks show silvery-white hackle, back and saddle with a black breast and tail, hens a silver-grey body with salmon breast and fine pencilling. It is recognised as a distinct variety in the American standard. Built like every Leghorn — light, upright and a steady layer of white eggs.
