About the Black And White Magpie
The Black and White Magpie wears a predominantly jet-black body offset by silver-white feathering across the head, neck and chest — a pattern closely resembling its pure-breed inspiration, the Silver (Light) Sussex, which earns this hybrid its 'magpie' name. A robust, friendly and inquisitive UK laying hybrid, she is hardy and settles readily into a mixed flock while delivering reliable, high-volume egg production in her first year.
