About the Black Malay
A self-black Malay, solid and lustrous with a green sheen in good light and no other colour in the plumage. It is one of the Poultry Club of Great Britain's five recognised Malay colours and was accepted by the APA in 1981. The uniform dark feathering emphasises the breed's defining silhouette — immense height, a long, sloping back and the cruel, overhanging brow that gives the Malay its fierce expression.
