About the Pile Malay
The pile (red pyle) Malay reverses the black-red pattern: wherever a black-red carries black, the pile shows white, leaving the cock with rich red-orange hackle, back and wing-bay over a white breast and body, and the hen mainly white with a salmon breast. It is one of the five colours recognised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain and was admitted to the APA in 1981. A striking, scarce colour on the breed's towering, hard-feathered frame.
